Curious if acupuncture might be right for you? Just ask.

Chinese medicine is rooted in the understanding that no two people heal in the same way. Your body, your experiences, and your needs are entirely your own — and your care should reflect that.

This time-honored approach focuses on meeting you where you are and supporting your unique path toward balance, comfort, and well-being.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Each visit begins with a conversation about how you’ve been feeling and what your body needs that day. For first-time visits, we spend more time reviewing your health history, discussing your concerns, and creating a thoughtful treatment plan. You may notice us checking your pulse or looking at your tongue — important tools in Chinese medicine for understanding the body’s internal balance.

Needles are placed gently and you’ll rest comfortably for about 20–30 minutes while the treatment works. Depending on your needs, we may also incorporate therapies such as cupping, gua sha, or moxa.

  • Most people are surprised by how gentle acupuncture feels. The needles are extremely thin — much finer than those used for injections. You may feel a small sensation as they’re placed, followed by warmth, tingling, heaviness, or a sense of relaxation. Many people even fall asleep during treatment.

  • Absolutely. This is very common, and we always work at your comfort level. Fewer needles, very gentle placement, or alternative techniques such as acupressure, cupping, gua sha, or moxa can be used to create an effective and comfortable experience.

  • Give your body time to rest and integrate the treatment. Stay hydrated, avoid strenuous activity, alcohol, and extreme temperatures for a few hours. Some people feel relaxed, others feel energized — both are normal. Pay attention to any changes over the next couple of days and share them at your next visit.

  • This varies from person to person. Acute concerns may resolve in just a few visits, while long-standing patterns often benefit from consistent weekly care for a period of time. We’ll create a plan together and adjust as your body responds.

  • We do not bill insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid directly. However, we are happy to provide a Superbill upon request for you to submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement.
